Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut visited Vranjska Banja, where he toured the Millennium Medical Center Special Rehabilitation Hospital, followed by a visit to the Millennium Resorts hotel complex, currently under construction. During the visit, he emphasized the importance of further developing and strengthening Vranjska Banja’s potential as one of Serbia’s leading spa tourism destinations.
The Prime Minister was welcomed at Millennium Medical Center by Deputy Director Dr. Slađana Stošić and the hospital staff, after which he toured the facility and spoke with patients undergoing rehabilitation.
“Vranjska Banja is widely known for its therapeutic thermal water, the hottest in Europe, and we must make even greater use of this potential in the future,” the Prime Minister said.
Macut emphasized that further developing the spa’s capacities is particularly important both for the local population, as it will create more jobs, and for people across Serbia who, as he noted, benefit from spa-based treatment for rheumatic conditions, sports injuries and postoperative conditions.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also toured the complex currently under construction, which will include the Westin 4* and Kralj Petar I by Autograph Collection 5* hotels, the Sofka Medical Center, as well as villas and bungalows.
During the visit, he stressed the importance of strengthening infrastructure capacity, to which the new 48,000-square-meter hotel complex currently under construction will undoubtedly contribute.
“We should be proud of all the beauty Serbia has to offer, and Vranjska Banja is certainly one of our gems that we should continue to develop,” the Prime Minister said. He was accompanied on the tour by Dragan Sentić, President of the Vranjska Banja City Municipality.
