The main building of the Special Hospital for Rehabilitation in Vranjska Banja has preserved its authentic appearance dating back to 1888, when it was built by order of King Milan Obrenović. Numerous historical records testify to visits by members of the Karađorđević and Obrenović dynasties, as well as by ordinary citizens, who came to Vranjska Banja to rest and seek relief from joint pain and other ailments in its hot thermal waters. One of the mementos from the first half of the 20th century, preserved at the Special Hospital, is a postcard from 1937, sent during a stay in Vranjska Banja to a Mrs. Ana from Belgrade. The postcard was sent on June 31, 1937, and has remained remarkably well preserved for nearly a century. It also bears a postage stamp featuring King Alexander I Karađorđević.
